Peter Kassel's serene interior scenes recall 17th century Flemish genre painting. Rigorously composed with no superfluous elements, Kassel's settings are simple, they seem to be a pretext for his play of lines and light, his contrastd of brightness outside and semi-darkness inside his logically constructed compositions.
